THE passion behind the lens
Captivated - throughout my life I have always been captivated by beauty: the expressions + raw emotions of people around me, the precious details around me, + the way the sun casts light as it rises + sets. That captivation has always driven me to capture those moments in time to look back on + reflect on the beauty around me.
This passion has been stirring for years until I finally drew up the courage to pursue photography + capturing those moments for others that appreciate those moments in the same way that I do. Creating art is one of the most awe-inspiring things to me, + the ability to do so never ceases to amaze me. Capturing images + creating art has become one of my greatest joys as I have done a deep-dive into photography!

Growing up, if you had asked me what my favorite places in the world were, I would probably tell you: the barn + the Downtown McKinney Square. I have a big-time love for animals (don't be afraid to include them in session), especially dogs + horses... I might have even thought about being a vet if I didn't faint at the sight of blood + cry in every dog movie I've attempted to watch. In addition for my love for animals, I've always been drawn to the Downtown McKinney Square. Watching people stroll around on a weekend, antiquing with my mom, or grabbing a meal with loved ones - all of these were some of my favorite things to do at the Square growing up.
While I dreamt of a life spent around Downtown McKinney as a little girl, little did I know this would come to fruition in my adult life. In fact, my husband proposed to me in the Grand Hotel (on the Square), we got married in a small family ceremony in the backyard of a home on Church Street (in the Historic District), bought a dental office right off the Square, + even bought a home less than one mile away. It never ceases to blow me away how integral Downtown McKinney has been as a backdrop for so many monumental moments in life.
Based in McKinney, Texas, I began my photography career taking headshots + branding photos for our dental office, Texas Sage Dentistry. From there, friends began to entrust me with capturing their milestone moments as their families grew + their love stories bloomed. Little by little, I have caught the bug + have fallen headfirst for the opportunity to work alongside people to capture their authentic moments, both big + small.

After receiving my Masters in Biblical Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary, I have put those skills into practice in everything I do. Life + photography are about so much more than what we see on the surface; they are about uncovering + capturing what lies beneath. When working with me, you will not just see smiling posed photos; you'll see a variety of moments captured of exchanges between loved ones, the details often glanced over, + a deeper meaning behind interactions. I'm on a mission to make a photography session so much more than just a photography session; it's about embracing + creating images of the most authentic you!
